Owning a quality diving watch does not have to expensive.
This is abundantly proven with the Invicta 8932. When I look at high
end diving watches, I often think “Yeah, 600 meters sounds cool but
isn't it a little overboard for Scuba. Wouldn't 200 or 300 meters work just as well?” I honestly believe it would (as least for me and probably 95% of you out there).
Let me first say that there is nothing wrong with owning a high end
watch, but are you really going to drop 6K on a diving watch and then
take it for a test in the deep? I think not.
The truth about most high end diving watches is that the most moisture
they come into contact with is some sea spray, while on a yacht.
At this point, most of you are saying to yourselves “Okay, but what's
your point?” My point is that you're still going to need a competent
diving watch because you're not taking your Omega or Breitling diving. That's where Invicta comes in, or more precisely the Invicta 8932.
The Invicta 8932 is made from solid, polished stainless steel, and it measures in at 38mm. This is not a large watch but it really doesn't need to be. Invicta is all about functionality in this piece. The scalloped, black bezel is unidirectional, which is used for measuring elapsed times. This feature is indispensable to divers as dive times are important. The 8932 carries a folding clasp to secure the stainless steel bracelet. Water resistance stands at 200 meters, which makes this watch eligible for diving.
The dial is jet black with luminous indexes and hands for legibility of the time under low light conditions. At the 3 position is a date display window. Over the date is a Cyclops that is used to magnify the date by a factor of 2 ½. Covering the dial is a hardened mineral crystal, which safeguards against minor nicks and scratches.
